For years, the Macedonian public has pointed to foreign traffic systems and the strict rules they follow as a positive example. But now, as the country introduces its own modern system for control and safety, the message is clear: it\u2019s time to establish order, respect the laws, and make responsibility a shared value. <\/p>\n

With 81 \u201cYES\u201d votes, the Parliament passed the Law on Offenses, creating a legal framework for the implementation of the \u201cSafe City\u201d system, aimed at improving traffic safety and protecting all participants.
\nThe law provides for more effective sanctioning of traffic violations through the use of modern technological solutions, such as speed control cameras, red-light violation detection, and monitoring of illegal parking. These measures aim to reduce traffic accidents, increase discipline on the roads, and ensure greater safety for citizens, with clear and transparent enforcement of the rules. <\/p>\n

The MPs from DUI and SDSM voted against the proposed legislation. The sponsors of the law viewed this stance as contrary to the public interest, given that the law is directly aimed at protecting human lives and improving traffic safety. <\/p>\n

The responsible institutions emphasize that the \u201cSafe City\u201d system will help establish order in traffic, ensure transparent and non-selective enforcement of the laws, and provide equal treatment for all offenders. With the adoption of the Law on Offenses, the state takes a significant step toward modernizing the traffic system and aligning with European road safety standards, sending a clear message that the rules apply to everyone and that safety is non-negotiable. <\/p>\n
