From ‘Strela Pesnata’ to ‘Dada Sali’: The new project by ‘Dakapo Band’ is a true balm for the soul.

In an era of fast trends, it is a true rarity and privilege to hear a young group of musicians who approach the Macedonian musical treasury with such passion, professionalism, and genuine respect, as the members of ‘Dakapo Band’ have done in their latest project.

Creating a true musical postcard, they revived the timeless notes etched into the collective memory of our people, proving that a great song knows no expiration date. At the heart of this project lies a tribute to the greats, giving the audience the opportunity to enjoy masterful performances of ‘Strela Pesnata’ and the bohemian anthem ‘Kje Pijam, Kje Lumpuvam,’ through which the band celebrates the life and work of the legendary Goce Arnaudov, while also experiencing the pulse of Macedonian čoček in the virtuoso Ferus Mustafov’s ‘Dada Sali. The repertoire is further enriched with emotive renditions of folk gems such as ‘Tvoite Ochi Leno,’ ‘Belo Lice,’ and the lively ‘Makedonki Bilbiljanki,’ which in this performance sound more powerful than ever.

Behind this resonant magic stands an outstanding six-member team, each leaving their unique mark: the emotion is conveyed by vocalist Antonio Tasevski, while the authentic Macedonian sound is brought to life by Vlatko Gjorgcev on clarinet and saxophone and Ilija Micev on trumpet, supported by the harmonic precision of Goran Kostadinov and Todor Ushitkov on keyboards, and the irreplaceable rhythm of Nikola Davchev on percussion.

With this move, ‘Dakapo Band’ not only offers us music to enjoy, but also sends a powerful message that Macedonian tradition is alive, inspiring, and in the capable hands of the new generations.
