U.S. REVOKES MORE THAN 300,000 VISAS SINCE TRUMP RETURNED TO POWER

Washington, D.C., USA — The United States has revoked more than 300,000 visas since Donald Trump returned to the presidency in January 2025, the U.S. Department of State announced on October 20, 2026.

According to U.S. authorities, the measures apply to foreign nationals found to have violated immigration rules, engaged in criminal activities or fraud, or whose circumstances, in the authorities’ assessment, may pose a risk to public safety and national security.

The figure represents a significant increase compared with August, when the U.S. Department of State announced that more than 175,000 visas had been revoked since the beginning of Trump’s second term.

Visa revocation may affect an individual’s ability to travel to and enter the United States, depending on the specific circumstances of the case and applicable immigration rules.

Enhanced screening and enforcement of immigration laws are part of the broader policy of the Trump administration. At the same time, human rights organizations have expressed concerns about respect for due process and freedom of speech in the implementation of certain measures.

These changes are of particular interest to foreign nationals living, studying, or working in the United States, as well as those planning to travel to the country.
